type of adhesive to glue side window to regulator rail?

The drivers side window on my son's geo metro came out of the window regulator rail. I have all the parts out of the car. Clean and ready to re-install. But I need to glue the bottom of the window glass to the metal channel that attaches to the window regulator. The window does not have any fasteners, it's simply glued to a metal chanel at the bottom.

Can I use RTV? or would that be to permanent?

What type of glue/sealant would you use?

I took it to a glass shop today, and they used a cork tape and pounded the metal part onto the glass. It is tight and very even. They only charged me $5.00 so I am happy. He said that some use a tape and others use a sealant. With what I had, he prefered to use the tape.

RTV will work fine, just let it dry.
Out door caulk can be used, as well.
