I picked up some Supertech 75W140 last night for $9.99 per quart. This compared to Mobil 1 75W140, sitting next to it on the shelf for 14.99/qt. (Both were synthetic.)

This is a huge savings between the two brands. The bottles looked suspiciously similiar, with the Supertech having a stick-on label vs the Mobil 1 being imprinted in the plastic.

Could it be that Mobil 1 supplies the Supertech to WallyWorld?

That's how much Napa around here sells Royal Purple for.
Same with the "race" shops and Redline.

I haven't bought M1 gear oil in over 5 years, not since the price went way up.

iirc, ST used to be made by Warren Petroleum Products. Or was that just their engine oil.
It used to say the maker on the back of the bottles.

I saw a analisis on this site sometime ago with the ST 75w140 and the everyone said the add pack was very weak compared to other 75w140s such as M1.

This viscosity wasent quite up to 140 standards either.
I would stick with amsoil, M1 or valvoline.
