My wife purchased a 2006 Toyota matrix last week.

The owner mwnual calls for a 85W or 85W-90 Wt
Gl-5 gear lube for the transfer case and rear axle. I called Toyota asked if it was a misprint
and they said no. What is 85w-90 gear oil? Where
can I get it?

See this viscosity chart:

Any GL5 75W90 synth lube will function just fine.
