Owners Manual says,
Gearbox & Transfercase: GL-4 or GL-5 SAE75W/90
Front & Rear Differential: GL-5 SAE90

Semi Floater, 8" Crownwheel, 2 Pinion.
I'm replacing the rear Differential Oil, as I'm going to install a Richmond Powertrax Lock Right.

And eventually, in the front aswell.

Could I use Valvoline Durablend(Semi Synthetic) GL-5 SAE75W/90 in the Gearbox, Transfercase and Differentials?
Is there a better option, that is commonly available?

I belive that it is now called Valvoline DuraGear 75W/90
No wonder I couldn't find it at Repco on Friday.

High Performance Synthetic Blend Gear Oil recommended for manual gear boxes, hypoid differentials and transaxle equipped vehicles where an SAE 75W/90 API GL-5 is specified.

Has this answered my Question, correctly?

I can't speak for a Toyota tranny, but in my Nissan, using a GL-5 in an application calling for a GL-4 is definitely verboten.

GL-5 oils contain sulfur-based additives that attack yellow metals (bronze, copper, etc.). If your tranny has bronze syncros, this could cause serious problems.

You might consider Specialty Formulations' MTL-R or Redline MT-90. Both are GL-4 75W-90 oils.

The Durablend would probably work fine in your diff. You can still buy straight 90 oils, but I see no reason not to use an 80W-90 or 75W-90 in this application.
