Hehe...well, I installed my Amsoil single remote bypass today, and thought I'd do a crude experiment with my FIPK2 on my 02 Dakota with the 4.7 v8.
I just took the cone filtef off, and applied a thin layer of marine bearing grease around the inner lip of the intake tube. Any grit that may get into the system might get caught in the grease, where it should be easy to spot.
Just to add, I've also got a K&N oiled foam wrap around the filter as well, and I'm hoping that it filters well........crude test, but why not?
Oh, yeah, the bypass was a royal pain.
