This is Royal Purple Full Synthetic 15W40 API rated CI/SL. This sample was taken 2/25/05. This was done by Butler Labs on Stinky Peterson's Special offer. (NC and Thanks)

This one had a lot of stuff that is not supposed to be in new oil so we did the filtration twice to verify the results. We did not have an unopened container of oil to work with so it is possible the sample or bottle was contaminated after it was opened. Also (although rare) it is possible to get a contaminated sample bottle.

Also when taking the picture we generally try get a representative section of the entire filter but sometimes we want to focus on a specific feature if there is a lot of material or a specific type that. I did however find a lot of this material on both filters so this is fairly representative of what was in the oil.
