Magnesium & Boron

Does anyone know what these two additives are used for?

I notice that M1 Truck & SUV uses Magnesium but not much Boron.

M1's motorcycle oil, MX4T, uses Boron but not much Magnesium.

Thoughts?

No, not yet. As I continue to read this forum though, I am certain I will eventually find out,

Magnesium and Boron are two types of Acid Neutralizers for oil. Magnesium usually is found, but not always the Boron. It all depends on the additive package that the blender decides to use.

I personally opt for a little Boron with the Magnesium in the mix, but that's just a preference.

All this oil analysis is a little mind boggling at times --- in that quest for the "perfect oil."
