Greetings,
What oil seems to be the pick for the Harley VRod engines? They share oil with the clutch and gears like Japaneses bikes dont they?
Thanks,
ebc

I have had good luck with Amsoil V-twin 20-50. I first tried the Syn3 but it had extreme sheerdown. Do a search for my UOA on this site. Also check out some of the V-Rod Forums.

Since 20W50 is the recommended viscosity you might want to try Amsoil's 20W50 MCV bike oil, or Mobil 1's 20W50 V Twin. Redline also has some oil geared towards this type of use. In my aircooled HD's I have been happily using the Amsoil 20W50 in the motor and primary, and the their 75W90 in the trans.

I am not sure if this is ok to do but check out v-rodforums.com for info specific to this model. You will be amazed at how fanatical we are over there.

Ken
