I bought a used Kawasaki Zx-11 this spring, and after changing the oil and running it for 700 miles, I had the oil sampled. Check out that post in the UOA section of the forums, hopefully it will encourage you to store your bike in the off season properly!

I read your original post on your ZX-11, nice bike

Do you need to have the motor rebuilt ??

I don't know yet what, if anything, will need to be done. I'm going to run ultra-short OCI's for a while and have the oil analyzed each time. If it turns out that it was just rust on the cylinders from storage, then iron should come down. If it stays really high, then I'll probably get Terry's advice on what I should do. The darn bike runs awesome though!

We resurrected a Suzuki RF 900 that had sat for a long time a few years ago.... The rings & cylinders had so much rust & crud buildup that it was reading extremely low compression. Once we finally got it up & running....It cleaned up the cylinders & gave good compression readings. I just saw the bike last week & the owner stated that it was running like a champ.
Im sure your 11 will be fine.
