From reading this section it becomes apparent that moly can be a concern for some folks. Here is a list of new oils we've ran in the last couple of months that contain moly.

I'm surprised to see Chevron using so much moly in diesel oil. Note to self - stay away from Chevron.

Bad analogy - all cholesterol is good, the drug companies that want to sell you drugs make try to convince you it is bad.

There are more than two types of moly...

I would suggest a search on the gas engine oil board using "moly" as the sole criteria.

A lot to read & learn available.

Cheers!

Hello,

new to the forum,
any up coming analysis on these oils?
Maxima Synthetic Extra; Maxima Synthetic Blend;
Castrol GPS; Castrol R4 Superbike.

Thanks and Regards....Agro

Thank you for the great info Mr. Peterson. It appears that the great concern on this board about using m1 15w50 aka red cap has little basis. To my uneducated eye it appears that it is very similar in makeup to their motorcycle rated oil. Other good canditates appear to be pennzoil, Delvac 1300 and Ursa 15w40s. Assuming of course that the 100 ppm +/- of Mo. that these oils have are not in need of some Lipitor.

Thanks again for the great information.
