I just cut open a chrome H/D brand oil filter and it was very well put to-gether.They cost around $20 Can. and to me look like a Champion filter product (high end like a Mobil 1).Anybody have an idea who makes them? Thanks in advance.

I don't know who makes them..... but for the 5 years I rode a Harley that's all I used. Seemed like a VERY sturdy design...... but... where the heck are having to pay $20/filter.... THAT is a ripoff........ I used the black ones and I think they were about $9 and the chrome was around $12.

I uese the chrome for the first year then realized the filter don't show that much and switched to the black and saved some $$$.

I take that back..... I tried a Perform one time and it STUCK on and was a pain in the a** to get off.

I have used STP motorcycle filters and never had any probelms with them. Can get them at Autozone for $5 or so.

That with some M1 15W50 and I was set

Did you cut open the regular filter or the SuperPremium filter?

The general thought is that they are a champion product.

I cut open a SuperPremium Harley filter about a year ago: web page

Here's a response from champion when another user emailed them about Harley filters:
