i have a 04 kawasaki prairie 700 atv, these use a spin on oil filter. the yamaha grizz660, and all polaris 4-stroke atv's use the same part number filter as my quad, i did a little research and found that any filter that will fit a mazda will fit these quads, you can actually find one filter that is approx double the size but will still fit. is there any reason to not use auto filters on a atv? they are about 1/5 the price, plus you have the option of getting a premium filter that supposedly filters better. which mazda filter? if it is the small usual 4 cyl filter the actual filter media is tiny. i think the media for my drz400 is larger. then again if your filter is even smaller then it still might be an upgrade
there is about 4 or 5 mazda filters that will fit, some are smaller, but one is about twice the size as the oem kawasaki filter, i was just wondering if there might be problems with the bypass valve or rubber valve that keeps the filter full whe shut off
