I think Harley is using "smart marketing". I'll bet that >50% of HD riders today buy things just because they say Harley Davidson on them. I know a guy that has over $20k invested into Harley "add-on's". He won't buy anything that doesn't come with an official Harley label. He also uses Harley's Tri-Syn oil in all three cases on his bike.
My point - in todays Harley market "If you sell an oil Labeled "Harley Davidson", they WILL buy it" And with anything related to Harley - HD means "Hundred Dollars".
He picks on me because I buy accessories on ebay and refuse to pay top dollar for something I can get somewhere else cheaper. I have quality synthetics in my bike, but none of them cost me the $8/qt or more that he paid.
