Does anybody know what JASO JIS K2215 is, and how it compares to JASO MA?

I did a Google search on JASO JIS K2215, and I got only 3 hits. The first two are about Schaeffer oils (Supreme 7000 10W30 and Micron Moly (R) Racing 30-50 SJ oils), so if you don't hear back, you might want to write one of the Schaeffer oil reps directly.

The other hit is a Japanese PDF file at www.env.go.jp that you'd have to have translated. My Japanese is limited to Please, Thank you, Thank you very much, Hello, a few forms of Good Bye, and Where's the bathroom?

None of it in Kanji.

The JASO spec might translate into something dealing with clutch slippage, as the MA/MB designation does, but don't be surprised if this specification doesn't. I think if you're looking to answer the question "does Schaeffer work well with wet clutches," you're going to get farther by asking that question specifically

From the URL of the Japanese page, I'd guess this relates the standard to a press release on Japanese environmental policy. It may be that this JASO spec deals with the recycleability of the oil!

Please let us know what you find out,
