Rotella smells bad

I have ran Rotella T 15W40 in one of my bikes before and soon stopped because it smells bad coming out the breather vent. Now a year later I'm trying the 5W40 and it stinks just as bad. On my other bike that does not vent to the open air this is not a problem. It does not really bother me, I'm just wondering is anyone else haqs experianced this.

I've found Formula Shell also has a stink, kinda like an old fish.

Must be the Buckley's mixture for engines.

Visit Shell's Rotella forum. There was actually a recall by Shell on the stinky Rotella. They said there was nothing wrong with the oil except that it smelled bad and they will replace it if you want them to.

I run Rotella t in my dodge cummins and for awhile after I change oil there is an oil refinery smell but it does get better with time. The smell comes out of the breather tube and I can smell it when I get out of my pickup.
