Oil in coolant? Deathcool sludge?

Here are pictures of the Dexcool sludge that a radiator shop has posted. My 1998 Malibu looked like those pictures in less than 20,000 miles, and then again at around 95,000 miles. I do think it was a combination of Dexcool, and engine and cooling design that contributed to the sludge. Pictures of it all over the net. I never did join the lawsuit because it would have been another slap in the face by GM. I read that people are still waiting on their money because of the government bailout.

My 02 malibu looks like that, and used to in the overflow tank. A few years ago I had the intake gasket changed, so no problem there that I know of, and then about 3 yrs ago had a mechanic change most of the coolant hoses due to age. Since then one of the hoses must not be tight, and "steams" on a cold morning as it warms up. Also my tank cap is shot and does not pressurize im sure. I have a new one in the trunk along with 50/50 coolant. As my coolant light comes on every few mos, I just load up the overflow tank. I havent had any problem with overheating doing this for a couple years. Just buy the 50/50 green whenever its on sale!
