Windshield: can it be repaired?

Even some places that just fix chips but don't replace windshields do grouse about Rain-X. However, it's easy to remove Rain-X if they really want to do the job rather than complain about the job. Rain-X's own X-Treme Clean glass cleaner will remove Rain-X, along with most other contaminants, very easily.
 
Well, won't say it's 100%, but since it's out of the line of sight, and cost me 10 minutes of time and zero dollars, I'm not sure I care too much. Just a chip on the outside, but you can see the spider web on the inside.
