Looking to protect the leather interior (and anything else I can actually protect) from our two very energetic mid-large dogs. Most of the time, folding the rear seats and using some type of HD barrier would be great, but for family trips that space will be cargo. Thinking bucket seat covers for the middle row and some form of HD or tough barrier to keep them out of the front.

This is on a 2014 Explorer with bucket middle seats... and any solution MUST pass the wife test unfortunately.

There are seat protectors they sell for just that purpose. Also door covers so the dogs are less likely to mess up the doors or hit the window switch. There are also seatbelts for dogs that attach to the collar. Keeps the dog from moving around excessively, and does help keep them from going flying when sudden rapid changes in velocity are needed.

Our 60 lb Lab mix loves curling up in the hammock we have over the back seat of our Cruze. It's done a good job of keeping the seat looking okay.

Ford Explorer? Dogs go in the way back.

They make a cage so they can't come up to the front on their own or on the event of an accident. Then you don't have to worry about your seats or door cards.
