Hello and this filter and whatever oil was on sale at Autozone was on a friends 2015 Ford Explorer for 6,000 miles. Put in some MC 5w20 and a FRAM ULTRA filter. Looks ok to me

Looks good ... they have that eCore center tube design looking good now.

Nothing really, as it's good having friends and neighbors that help each other out. Plus having a "oil stash" for cheap helps

That filter looks excellent.
I agree with the previous poster, you are a great contributor to this site '51.

Gang: I was at autozone looking at the oil change specials and decided that I will just use some chevron supreme and a FRAM extra guard for my friends 99' bonneville

I'll say the element looks fine at 6k miles and clearly the cage and, media area, pleat spacing and uniformity have been improved over older ecores. That said, this one uses a nitrile combo valve which even GM now won't use on their for GM ACDelco ecore applications. Likely ok here, but 'for me' I'd choose a filter with a separate metal bypass first for reliability reasons. My .02

Thanks for c&p.
