Replace battery or let it go?

The red top in my Jeep is only 8 years old, I replaced the last one with 6 years on it because I did not want to get stranded. The funny thing is the one I replaced 8 years ago is still being used in another car.

In today's world....it could be real trouble. Shop now for one on sale and get it on your terms.

This has not been my experience the past 15 years or so. Working perfectly fine right up until total failure.

That's my experience too. No warning and then a no-start.

The no-starts are generally in the garage, at home, first thing in the morning (ie inconvenient but not too serious).

I did get 12 years out of the large trunk mounted conventional battery in the BMW though. In the winter I trickle charged that battery overnight every few weeks especially when I wasn't driving it much. I gave it some extra consideration due to the cost of a replacement and the high resting demands on the battery.

The Honda conventional battery lasted 8 years on the once and done (ie one no-start) approach.
