Attached is the latest UOA for my T4 MX-5. The previous fill was M1 5w20 by the previous owner who also used leaded fuel. I'm now running Redline 30wt Race Oil and running 100 octane Street Legal unleaded fuel. The big surprise to me is the increase in Copper over the previous sample. I did change the air filter mid-OCI and ran some pretty dusty tracks during the summer so the increased Silicone doesn't come as a surprise.

Redline uses a fair bit of dimethylpolysiloxane, so the silicone reading will likely go up from that. It's an anti foaming agent.

Give the redline some time, the ester could be scavenging and dispersing some old wear metals, and as you know it's not possible to get all the old oil out. There's likely a half quart or more of the M1 still in there. That also explains the lower viscosity.

How long did you run the M1 oci?

Unknown length on the M1 OCI, I'm guessing between 750-1500 miles. It was left over from the previous owner.

Do you punish the RL 30 wt more than M1 5W20?
It looks to me the RL 30wt is holding up much better than M1.
For now, I wouldn't be concerned with the 'apparent' increase in Cu and Si.
OCI/track days probably could be extended, I suppose.

As far as I know the usage was similar for both oil drains.
