Hello all,

Curious where I can find specs for Cummins Onamax 15w-40 Oil?

I have a Cummins Onan Quiet Diesel 6,000 generator which calls for CJ-4 15w-40 and have been using Mobil Delvac 15w-40. Curious if the Onamax oil is worth the extra money?

I change oil annually (per Onan)...not planning on extending OCI. Any info you have would be great.

Thanks to all again.

I think some will jump in and push their brand - but that's a regular day at work for Delvac 15-40 ...

Most suppliers/Manufacturers push their house oils, filters, lubes, additives, belts, hoses, etc., etc.

Doesn't necessarily mean those are better products, just that they carry the same name and give the selling dealer/brand a continuing revenue stream after the original purchase.

As long as your using a oil that meets the requires specs for your Onan, and Delo should, your golden.

I've been told Onamax is Valvoline Blue. Good, quality oil, but nothing special. I use Delo 400 in my Onan 7.5K and change it along with the filter every 150 hours.

Thanks Koop. Appreciate the info on Onamax oil. Have a great night.
