I bought a bearing race driver set. I assume the tapered side goes into the race and the lip pushes against the race. As opposed to the back flat surface pushing against the race.

Something I've always made usually drive the old race out turn it down just a bit smaller and weld a piece of metal to it and then a large 1" bolt in the center and drive the new race in then put it on the shelf for next time
