Question:
I have a 1995 carver 370 aft cabin that has 2 454 crusader tbi engines. I have recently had the starboard motor rebuilt due to a spun bearing. I ran a WIX filter and valvoline 10w30 oil as break in oil. Now its time to change oil...will it be safe to use a shell rotell 15w40 oil in this engine?

Rotella 15w-40 would be a great choice for your application.

My brother has a pair of 454 Crusaders in his 1986 36' Tiara. I do a lot of maintenance on the boat.

I typically run any 5w40 or 15w40 with a half a bottle of Red Line Break-In in each engine. Fram Ultra Filters.

My dad has a boat with two 454's and runs delo 15w40. The boat only has like 400 hours on it though. I think they only go to 1500 hours in marine applications though. After that it's luck if I remember right.
