Conventional oil instead of synthetic

I have a 2012 car and the owners manual suggest using full synthetic . I would just like to use conventional or semisynthetic oil for shorter mileage. Mostly because I have a bunch of conventional oil that I've picked up on sale through time. Will it really marrer? Thanks for your responses
 
There is a reason the manufacturer recommends synthetic.
It would be helpful to let us know the make, model, engine and what the manufacturer recommends.
 
It's a 2012 Mazda 2. Naturally aspirated. It's say 0w20 synthetic. I'd rather use 5w20 conventional instead

"Synthetic" is NOT A PERFORMANCE SPEC. Meaningless.

You guys should know better by now.

You could assume the car requires ILSAC GF-5 resource conserving/ API SN.
These oils must BEAT a PAO test oil for fuel economy to get the RC rating.

Use your conventional.
PYB last time I looked was conventional or is it really?
I run it out to 7-8K in a car spec'd for 0w20
Comes up stellar all the time with a Fram Ultra.
 
On a run of the mill car like that, I would happily use 5W20 conventional or syn-blend for 5K mile changes. Assuming I already had the oil on hand and wasn't just being a cheap skate, as you can get 0W20 at Wal-Mart or Amazon for $22 for 5 quart jug.

Mag 1 synthetic 0W20 (same as Warren or Super Tech) is regularly $18-$20 at Amazon (price fluctuates)

Ditto.

Dino at 5K or synthetic at 8 to 10K should yield similar results.
If you are in Alaska, Minnesota, or some other state with artic winters I'd use 0w20 in winter...
 
Messing around with Google - seems some Mazda dealerships have been there, done that ...
 
I think you'd be fine using the (SN?) conventional oil you already have at 5k OCIs. As always, keep it topped off.
 
It's interesting a regular car like that needs synthetic. Does it have a turbo?
