Hi guys, I own a 2000 Blazer equipped with the 4.3 vortec. I have replaced my spark plugs about 10.000 miles ago. Im using standard NGK plugs.

Here´s what one of them looks like.

What does the dry oily crusty mean? A oil leak?

By the way, I´m feeling that the engine it´s not running all that smoothly from time to time, looks like a faint pinging or hesitation. I really dont know how to describe it.

Thank you...

Your plug indicates oil being burned in the combustion chamber. It's not an additive or your gas because your other plugs would have same issue.

Are the insulators close to that color on all the plugs? Unless the flash is bleaching the photo the porcelain looks awfully light. But the buildup appears to be oil. Compression check would be my next move, if you want to try to zero in on the problem.
