W10: Lost W7 type desk top

Running Windows 10 and using a mouse rather than the touch screen option. My desk top, Like W7 I had my selected icons plus the standard icon such as the waste basket etc. I have lost the icons on the desk top. I can see the icons when I open the Desk top file but, am unable to get them on the desk top. I've tried every thing in my knowledge base with out success. Ed Hayes

do you use 2 monitors?

you have it set to show desktop icons right?

One monitor. Show desk top?

right click on desktop

That solved the issue Rand. Thank you very much. I was unable to open up the field when I right clicked on the desk top. That took a work around to get in a position to use your recommendation. Ed Hayes
