So, I was given a few of these from a gear head friend that stumbled upon them. Is it a sleeve of some kind? Thanks in advance. It is 1 3/4" long and 1" diameter on each end.

Looks like an adaptor of some "special" kind. Perhaps "specialized' or specified" would be better terms.
Is that 1/2" female pipe thread? If you have a micrometer measure and post the inside and outside diameter of the smooth end.
Sweat something onto it? Sweat something into it? Perhaps some known pipe to universal tubing?

Yeah, I don't have anything that threads or could thread into it. I texted my brother so he more than likely knows. We shall see
It's a weld on threaded tube fitting for the end of a tube. If you were building a 4-link suspension you'd use that at the end of the tube then thread a rod end to it.
