Had an entry level 4 year old Kenmore freezer go out (Electrolux) - Sears wanted $100 to "have a look" - pop in PLC was $50 on eBay ...Back purring again in a hot garage ...
Think I'll order an extra PLC and avoid loss of contents next time ...

How did you know what was wrong with it?

Correct - digital appliances control side run off them - and based on age I did not think it was the compressor ... And it had an LED read out that went "Greek" ...
P50 for $50 Alex !

You never answered my earlier reply, so I'll add to it.
Since you knew how to repair the freezer, why did you call Sears in the first place? Did you think they would troubleshoot it for free?

Why take a pot-shot at a business like Sears Appliance Service, when your intention was really to fix it yourself and look for / read all the kudos replies.
