I have several large clusters of palmetto bushes that I want to remove. I have already cut off all of the palms, but those things are nearly impossible to dig up without renting a Bobcat. I have tried Roundup, Ortho Brush Killer and Roundup Pro, nothing puts a dent in them. The bulbs keep sprouting, and my temper keeps rising. Anyone have any suggestions?? -Joe

Wrap a big truck towing chain around the base, attach to a large truck and rip them out of the ground.

You could saturate it with salt water but everything else that comes in contact with it might die. I think if you keep spraying the leaves with weed killer it'll die. But that means there needs to be foliage to spray. The weedkiller won't work unless it goes thru the leaves. Forgive me if I'm being to simplistic.

I've got some mongrel hydrangeas that need getting rid of. I keep digging, but their roots go down a long long way.

They laugh at round-up or kerosene.

When the weather warms up a little, I'm trying a bag of BBQ charcoal.
