It most certainly can if done right (as we've discussed before).
They will always automatically make money if you stick the rate payer with the bill. So what ends up happening is that one area may end up paying twice as much for electricity with a nuclear plant than some area without one.
They make money at 6.5 cents per KWh here in Ontario, they are actually far less expensive than some of the alternatives. Wind/solar pay at minimum 13 cents per KWh, so they cost the consumer far, FAR more. Nukes are one of, if not the cheapest generator in this province, and makes up the majority of generation. Our one station is over 7,000MW (Bruce).
