2016 Ford Fiesta factory oil filter CUT OPEN

2016 Ford Fiesta factory installed filter. Friend that drives a ton, brought car to me for oil change. I put a Tough Guard #3614. The factory filter and oil was in for 8,400 miles. Made by Purolator also and made August 19th, 2015. Oil I used was EDGE 5w30 also. Looks ok for a Purolator and the mileage.

That might be the first Puro made FoMoCo 'factory' filter I've seen. As far as I can remember only ones I've seen prior were Champ/(Fram) made.

8400 miles, looks quite good imo.

I didn't realize the Ford factory filters weren't all Purolator made...is that something new then?

I dunno honestly. I still see Champ made filters on Explorers, F-150 and F-250 and transit vans, etc at work so.....

The over the counter OES filters sold at the dealer and WM are Puro made, but the factory FoMoCo filters posted here over time have been Champ/(Fram) made.

Purolator makes Ford's factory filters now, too? Oh man, Fram/Champ is being hurt big time! First they lost the CQ contract, and now Ford?

You should've used an Ultra instead of the TG

Honestly i thought Fram Made the factory Filters for Ford.. That looks like a tearolator.. Did that filter have regular oil holes in the center tube or are they louvers?

Yes it does look similar to/same as the MC filter design of the Puro made filters sold over the counter at the dealers, WM and elsewhere. However as noted, first factory FoMoCo made by Puro posted here. 'Seems' M&H Puro has taken some factory OEM supplier business now from Fram/Rank.
