If you plan to keep your next car for a long time then 2016 Civic with manual transmission is a good choice. This new Civic is actually has more interior room than 95 Accord. Upfront cost is a lot more than 99-04 Civic, but this 2016 Civic should last you 15-20 years fairly easy, with proper maintenance.
