I do one year OCIs doing only short trip city driving. I live across the border in Ontario.
I rack up about 7500 miles per year.

Am I worried about short tripping and doing UOAs? No.

I think the oil can take it.

Time is running out before irreversible engine damage starts occurring.

It is the standard 4.0L 1UZ-FE engine, it is virtually indestructible. I tried synthetic 5W20 in 2-3 OCI's of 1 year each yp to 18-20k miles, oil consumption was the same amount as with 5W30. I also tried 10W40 for 1 OCI, it was a little sluggish but didn't truly effect driving.

I think the 1UZ-FE is one of the most reliable V8 engines of the last 25 years.

I do one year changes on my 14 Mustang GT. Manual says go by the OLM or don't exceed one year or 10,000 miles.
