So went to autozone (closest) to pick up an oil filter for my '10 mazda 3 2.0L. Narrowed it down to the Motorcraft FL-910S and Bosch 3330. Bosch was $7 and Motorcraft was $6. I went with the Bosch because it clearly said Made in the USA. Still trying to find out where FL-910S is made. Anyway my question is what does the date code mean? It says "F00E160065" with letters to right "4UG"

Both are made in USA, or Fayetteville, NC to be exact

The F means Fayetteville, NC
the next two numbers are the month
E means the year (2013)
the next two numbers are the day of the month

Thanks car51, slacktide_bitog, and ZeeOSix. So how does one know what letter means what year?

That's just the thing, the layman person doesnt know which company owns which and what codes to use. I guess Mann-Hummel owns Bosch which owns Purolator which owns Motorcraft?
