John Deere has a 10w30 diesel break in oil. I don't know anything about it's specs. they claim that their new tractors come with this installed.
New engine breakin high ZDDP oil.

Well, temp here hit 122 degrees so shop time was in order yesterday. Got it buttoned up for install time. Carb and vc's will come off the current engine. Can't wait.
hmm, how do I get the picture the right way? LOL Fine everwhere else.
is there any chance you'd go with hydraulic lifters? those flat tapped lifters may be the death of your new SBC build, if you want longevity go with hydraulic, if you're looking for a street/track racing motor then keep the flat tappet but hydraulic lifters are good for street racing applications as well.
