1980 Volvo would not pass emissions test in ILL. Tried new spark plugs, ign wires, Italian tuneup, to no avail. Put one can of Techron cleaner in 1/2 tank of fuel and ran it normally until near empty. Passed a repeat emissions test easly. Ed Hayes

What type of fuel do you typically use? how many miles on the Volvo?

a women at work and she had 200,000+ miles on it.

Put new fuel before emission test, diluting the techron remaining of that 1/2 tank, or went with all techron added to gas?
