What engine is in these Sentras? Having just got a Nissan Expert with the 1.8 QG18, the 3 litre sump capacity and tiny filter has me thinking I won't push it over 10,000km no matter what oil I use.

the '04 has the 1.8 QG18DE and the '05 has the 2.5L QR25DE.

Okay another question on this, Since you guys had mentioned having he oil analysis done, where would I get that done?

Not sure if ANA does individual accounts. Everything is speculation until you have an oil test done. I would suggest going your normal oil change interval; when you think it is time to change, send in a sample and see what the lab says about the condition of your oil. I use OAI testing, like Blackstone, they provide commmentary to help the newbies understand whats they're reading. TBN (Total Base Number) is basically a measurement of additive depletion; Blackstone charges extra for that.

You can pick up the kit at Napa. Part number 4077. Instructions are on the box.

I have an 06 Spec V w/72k miles.

I run mostly M1, but recently I've ran Ultra and RP for 4k intervals. I don't really care about extending it, as I beat on her daily, and often do track duty.

Mine doesn't burn a drop either.

The 1.8L or QG engine is pretty reliable, and non-picky, it will like any oil you throw at it. So maybe that's a little overkill using M1.

But as far as the 2.5L or the QR, I would keep doing the same interval. Especially if you're running the stock exhaust manifold pre-cat, which is known to get sucked into the engine, and cause massive oil consumption/damage. Also check your intake manifold screws for the same reason.

If you already took care of these things, then awesome. You have a good QR.
