I have an 06 Spec V w/72k miles.
I run mostly M1, but recently I've ran Ultra and RP for 4k intervals. I don't really care about extending it, as I beat on her daily, and often do track duty.
Mine doesn't burn a drop either.
The 1.8L or QG engine is pretty reliable, and non-picky, it will like any oil you throw at it. So maybe that's a little overkill using M1.
But as far as the 2.5L or the QR, I would keep doing the same interval. Especially if you're running the stock exhaust manifold pre-cat, which is known to get sucked into the engine, and cause massive oil consumption/damage. Also check your intake manifold screws for the same reason.
