Easy solution:

Teach the future generations how to service and repair the robots that are going to take all your jobs.

Here's the deal, all across the planet, there are people living in poverty, some get a little bit of government assistance in some of the more forward thinking nations, but the vast majority of the people who live in situations of poverty get no assistance at all.

Now, what happens when you have large numbers of starving people all in one area?
You have increases in crime, not just people stealing food to survive, but the crime of people torturing and killing the poor, because no one cares about them, and who's going to notice?

And yet some of you don't want there to be programs available to help people survive.
Yet I can guarantee that not a single one of you would ever pass up the opportunity to collect the same "socialist benefits" when the time comes for you to receive them.

How many of you who think that socialism is a dirty word, and that all these programs are a detriment to the planet are planning on either refusing or donating your Social Security check, or not making use of Medicare/Medicade programs in your retirement years?

Come on you contradictory knuckle draggers, fess up.
All of you that hate socialist's, The President, and everything else that swings the same way, how many of you are going to actually refuse to accept the very Socialist Programs that you've been looking forward to your entire working career?

I know a few of you will be able to live comfortably on your retirement savings, but what are you really going to do with that SS check when it starts getting mailed to you? Are you going to return it back to the US government, or are you going to accept it, and use it?

The way some of you talk, you certainly aren't going to donate it to help the homeless, or fund a grant with it.

Tell the truth.
I dare you.

You keep saying socialist programs are bad, yet you just keep pulling excuses out of your butts.

There's a difference between people who can't and people who won't. Today we have a society full of people who are fully capable of working, but choose not to because it's too much work for them to go to school to learn a trade, so they sit on their duffs and collect free gov handouts. You can't compare these people to those who have worked all of their lives and have EARNED their social security and their pensions...I'm all for helping those who can't work, but I am absolutely against helping those who choose not to...

Bladecutter
The problem is the mindset of those in poverty.
My grandma, passed away about 5 yrs ago and she once told me a story of how they were so poor back when grandpa was off fighting in WWII.

She and the 5 kids would nibble on a couple pieces of bread each day maybe eat an apple off the tree in the backyard. They had essentially no money and despite that fact she said she never took a dime of handout money. She was very proud of the fact that she didn't take the handout, ever.

Now days people are PROUD of the fact that they are getting a handout, in fact they are so proud that they plan of keeping/getting it forever.

In the past people were ashamed to take a handout. Now days they are proud of sitting of their butts and taking a handout. Twisted right?

Why didn't my wife apply for unemployment after having our baby? Because we didn't need it.........

Maybe we shouldn't have gotten married... that way she could be an unemployed single mother eligible for every handout under the SUN! Meanwhile i work hard and provide for the family... and we could have no expenses they could all be paid for, home, utilities, groceries, phone, TV etc. WHAT A JOKE DUDE!

You are assuming something that is not concrete. You assume Social security will be there when you retire. Social Security has a net NEGATIVE RATE OF RETURN. I think social security should be self directed if the person wants to Let me decide where to invest the tens of thousands I have paid in..... please.

I think alot about how much more I could give to charity and church if we didn't have so many blood sucking parasites on the govt teat.

Imagine what the church could do with an ADDITIONAL $10k per year from me? WOW, possibilities are endless

Bladecutter wouldnt you rather give to a charity that you can see is ACTUALLY doing some good with your money vs the federal GOVT who simply squanders it? and leaves nothing to show for it? anyone, red cross, unicef, etc.

I am not 100% against govt programs but I think there needs to be much more PERSONAL involvement. before someone get a handout there needs to be interviews, house visits, and at least monthly meetings where someone can sit down and assess the situation.

Painting with a pretty broad brush there buddy.

You are basically saying "My opinion is the correct one. If you don't agree you are either lying to me or lying to yourself"

Simply, your assumptions are wrong.

I agree 100%. Also choose a career field that can't be outsourced overseas.

Unless I decide to just give up and go full-on parasite for the rest of my life, I will never see one single cent from Social Security or Medicare.

Why, do you plan on dying before you're eligible to use those programs?

I am in finance since the late 1970's.

Whenever I get the urge to do stand up comedy, I gather up the young-uns that at my company who are only a few years at most out of college. I then describe the things I did during an average work day when I first started. These folks are laughing at these things since these are some of the funniest and most ridiculous things that they can possibly imagine.

The world changes, and quickly. Keep up, or suffer the consequences.

Why would anyone return a check that contains THEIR confiscated money? Stolen over a period of 5-6 decades.

Exactly.

If the money is taken from you without anyone ever asking if you want to be part of the program, it's not hypocritical to want your money back.

Now if someone could choose not to pay into the system, then demand payment from it....

Who are we describing now?

Why should I give away a check that I qualify for after PAYING INTO the SS system for decades. Perhaps you worked under the table all your life and don't qualify because you didn't PAY IN. You want "socialism" to give you the check anyway. You know, jack, if you took all the money from all the "rich" in this country it would run the Federal government for about a week. So, after THAT, then what? BTW, the one percent you hate so much pay at least 80% of all the TAXES in the US. So, you want to, what, kill them all? What's "wrong" with socialism becomes apparent when the spendocrats run out of other folks money. What happened to Venezuela, with all their oil money they can't afford to import bathroom tissue, but Ugo Chaves' daughter lives in the South of France after being left 4.3 BILLION dollars from Mr. "Socialist". Taking care of the poor and downtrodden sure is good business.

Wow, that sucks...sorry to hear that...

Most of our ancestors grew or hunted their own food, made their own clothes, built their own homes, and traded for the few things they couldn't make. Most of our descendants will make their own food in vats, make most of the things they use, and trade for the few things they can't make. For the majority of people, jobs were a temporary aberration as we progressed from one world to the other.

So you're saying we're going back to the stone age?

When I was growing up, my parents would take us for a Sunday ride.
We would go past some construction workers digging a ditch (by hand).
My parents would say, "do good in school or you'll be digging ditches".

Now it looks like that's the job with the most security.
Ditch digging can't be out-sourced.

This is how I take out my competitors. My biggest competitors are the chains and Franchises, they only survive because of low wage workers. When I advertise for an employee I always put in my pay scale, all benefits and hours in the ad.

My competitors always and I mean always say in their ads that compensation will be discussed at the interview. WHY? because if they put their pay scale in the ad no one would call let alone show up for an interview.

Now you're an employee at a competitor and you see my pay scale and your looking at what you're bringing in the door for your company. You can easily see how much more I'd pay you for the same amount of work, it doesn't take long for the BAD ATTITUDE to kick in at those other companies. The most you can make with them tops out at $11 an hour and I start at $15.

Believe me guys more damage can be done from inside of a business than anything the competition can do on the outside.

My biggest competitor opened up four years, nine months ago and when the five year lease is up they are gone. They've probably lost somewhere between $200K - $250K all because I introduced a bad attitude inside their business starting on day one. Although they jumped the pay ($8.00 to $9.00 last year) because of me it wasn't enough to keep the employees happy. The good ones left for greener pastures over the years and the ones that are left are pretty much the dregs, that will find it hard to get another job compensating them as well as they are now.

I've had two of their past and present employees in for interviews in the last two months and decided to pass on both. A third is scheduled for Thursday and I've already decided to pass on that one also. The two we interviewed previously had serious chips on their shoulders. The one I talked to last week that is coming in Thursday seems to also have the same I'm God's gift the business attitude. This from people who make $9.00 and hour looking at a job that starts at $15 with almost all of my employees making north of $20 with commissions and bonuses.

The only reason I'm looking is because an employee of 29 yrs is retiring the first of July.
