Many US passenge car engines sold in Europe tend to have long drain intervals recommended than here in the US - what is the easy spec or rating to look for on an synthetic oil jug that can meet the European long drain OCI ?

Vauxhall and Tesla are the only new nes that spring to mind, although there was a Chrysler dealer near me a few years ago with a Viper in the window.

Mostly classic stuff though, the majority of Europeans wouldnt want to drive an American car.

Ford?

Vauxhall /Opel and European Fords aren't really American cars since they are developed and built here, and have little in common with US products. They are made by American companies (in case of Opel hardly even that), but they aren't American products.
Of course there's Jeep and Chrysler, but they obviously aren't American either.

Then it comes down to semantics, and interpretation of nationality.

Is Bugatti German or French? Is Lamborghini Italian or German? Is Bentley British? Are Skoda Czech?
GM and Ford are American companies, hence the vehicles they produce are American vehicles.

Put another way, if you and your wife are the same nationality and you go on holiday where your wife gives birth, is your baby the same nationality as you and your wife? Or the nationality of the country in which it was born?

Looking at Ford UK website, the Focus looks the same as the US version, and the Mondeo is the same as the Fusion here in the USA. And of course the Mustang is the same as well.

It's not semantics. Lamborghini is German owned company, but cars are still Italian. They are built and developed in Italy by Italians. On other hand Bugatti is French only by name -there is nothing left from old Bugatti, and cars are VWs. So is Skoda- VW clone.

Ford of Europe is subsidiary of its parent company, and its line of products is completely different from American models. Ford does sell some of its European offer in the states, but not the other way round.

Edit; except Mustang.

Where products are sold is immaterial. Ford is an American company so Ford cars are American cars.

Because VWoA is a subsidiary of its parent company, does that make their cars American or Mexican? Or are they still German?

Regarding you and your wife, if you have a baby on holiday is that baby of your nationality? Or of the country in which it was born?

It's important where cars are developed. If BMW make X5 in US plant than it's still German product, but if were BMW made subsidiary in US that would develop on its own line of cars completely different from the parent company, than yes I'd say BMW of USA is American car.
Focus and Mondeo are made by Germans in Cologne, and are European just as Golf or 3 series are.

Does that make the Focus or Mondeo German?

It doesn't matter where your Sony TV was made, Sony is still Japanese. Ergo, a cars nationality is determined by the nationality of the parent company.

Mk1 Ford GT40 was designed and devolved in England, by English men who used and English chassis. But being Ford, it's still an American car..

Yes Olas Focus and Mondeo ARE German. So is Opel. Opels are even advertised as German cars..
You can't compare consumer electronics with vehicles. Cars are way more complex products, and target audience are very different from country to country.

Well let's agree to disagree then, and I'd like to ask you once more:

If yu and your wife are the same nationality, and your wife gives birth to your baby on holiday in a different country, is your baby of your nationality or of the country it was born in?

Our baby that would be born in let's say UK would be Croatian still of course. But tell me, how many generations has to pass to become a part of nation? For Americans one seems enough -over here, for some, centuries aren't long enough.

Ye, the Omega is developed by Opel in Germany, by german engineers, so it is a German car, sold by an American company. But the nwo will put an end on this nonsense, hahag.
