My 2014 Accord and Civic, I've drained about four quarts and put four qts in twice now and put the Honda CVT fluid in, found out today I was supposed to be using HCF-2. (yes, I messed up)

So how bad did I screw up? I'll put HCF-2 in this weekend.

Recommendations?

So, just to clarify, you drained out four quarts of the OLD Honda HCF-2 CVT fluid and did a fill with 4 quarts of the older Honda CVT fluid??

Yep

HFC-2, or the Honda CVT Fluid-2 is the newer version of CVT fluids.

Check the part number on the bottle.
The older CVT fluid's part number is (08200-9006).

The newer fluids part Number should be (08200-HFC2).

The older fluid's part number is (08200-9006) went up to 2012 Models.

The newer fluid's part Number (08200-HFC2) covered 2013 and up.

What does your Owners Manual say?

I feel like a goober - just checked, both cars manuals say HCF-2.

Do two changes in each vehicle with the newer Honda CVT fluid (08200-HFC2).

The newer Honda CVT fluid (08200-HFC2) has a different additive package than did the older CVT fluid (08200-9006).

Two changes right away? Days in between? Months in between?

From the back of a HCF-2 bottle:

"...failure to use the specified transmission fluid may damage the transmission. CVT fluid and HCF-2 are not compatible and should not be mixed or substituted for each other..."

I would do a double flush ... but looks like Amsoil CVT covers both fluid types!?

So they can't be to different... I wouldnt expect any damage !

If you put regular atf that would be the problem !

Valvoline CVT fluid is good for both HMMF and HCF-2

Here is the PDS

I would do a thorough line off exchange if possible today and another one tomorrow.
Drain and fills IMO will leave too much mixed fluid which cant be a good thing especially when they claim the fluids are not compatible.
It might be a PITA and cost a bit but a new CVT cost a [censored] of a lot more. Use OE spec fluid not something that just claims to meet the spec.

Says HFC2 on YELLOW tag attached to filler plug on my 2013. Good to know as I'm about to make an appt with local Honda dealer to have the CVT serviced as its coming up on 60K miles. It was done at 15K under warranty when a "fix" was done because of "shuddering".

Done.

Warmed up trans, drained well, put in three qts of HCF-2.

Went through the gears and warmed up well.

Drained that thoroughly and put in 3.75 qts of HCF-2 to bring it to the full level.

When I drained the first time, had a red tint to it.

After I drained the first flush, it was full on yellow, no red.

I think I'm good to go...

Thanks for all the advice everyone!
