oil & gas resistant tape

This may not be the best place to ask, but, is there such a product. I ran into a problem with a leaking gas can spout while fueling an off road vehicle. (We was a looong way from anything with wheels.)

Yup. I was introduced to "F4 tape" (The nice wide orange tape with the green stripe down the middle) by...........a retired F4 crew chief. Doubles as electrical tape, water/heater hose repair, can be cut to make a gasket, even lasts awhile as an exhaust leak repair. Got a roll from Amazon last year.

We had the same or similar in the Air Force during Vietnam days=very good and in a metal can to preserve as there was a shelf life
