Weather checking

At what point would you want to hold a tire company to the millstone about tire checking? My Cooper at3 tires are less than 3yrs old with about 40k miles and 9/32 remaining... But I see what I consider significant weather checking. Local dealer says not to worry about it, but at this rate I should get 2 years or more of service e, mostly highway. Is it worth going to Cooper? Is it really not a big deal:?

Yeah Id hate to see it, but 40k miles is a decent amount of use, and probably, what, half of the tire's mileage and time rating?

I have over 45,000 miles on my Cooper's on my Frontier.

Driving through ice, snow, mud and hunting fields and they show no cracking whatsoever.

Now, I have Michelin's on the wife's 08 Trailbalzer with less than 40,000 miles and show severe weather cracking. The Michelin's will be replaced this spring with Goodyear's.

My last 2 sets of tires were 12 yr old Michelins and 16 year old Goodyears. The Michelins started showing checking/cracking at 10-12 years (40-50K miles) The Goodyears were perfect though they only had 16K miles on them and usually garaged.

Yeah, I'd be a bit miffed on 3 year old tires checking in Michigan. I could see it happening if you lived in a hot climate most of the year.
