You are a BITOG-er if you need to know the date or batch number of your engine oil. You are even more of a hardcore BITOG-er if you are extremely careful to use bottles that have matching dates/batch numbers.

I did something that would outrage some hardcore BITOG-ers. I used some Belgian Castrol 0w40 mixed with German Castrol 0w40. The biggest thing that would offend is that BC 0w40 has no titanium additives and GC 0w40 does have titanium additives.

I love the one about educating the counter personnel in retail auto parts stores.
I still show them the A3,B3-B4 designations so they know what to recommend to turbo owners.
I look at it as a public service delivered with true altruism not a sickness.

My local parts store I have strangers wander up and tell me that "the bloke at the counter told me to come talk to you"...

I actually am really guilty of this. Since I travel all over NY and PA, I like to go to each Wal-Mart to look at their selection. My co-workers thought it was a strange habit at first, but now go "hey, wanna check out that Wal-Mart?"
