Good luck! If you can make a comparison between the OEM and Mahle filters, I'd like to see it.

It looks like you only have a choice of oem or mahl which probably makes the oem. With only one filter choice efficiency is a moot point.

Beyond that, getting a published/documented 4548-12 spec not likely for an OEM.

Yep, it's not cheap testing. Here's another brochure of SwRI capabilities - page 10 shows ISO 4548-12.

I remember reading that the OEM 68229402AA filter is made by a company with headquarters in Italy. If you can track down that info, they might be able to provide you with the specs.

The Mahle 1034D filter is made in Bulgaria.

Side note: my dealer wants $75 for the OEM filter. Amazon has them for $38, and the Mahle for $13.

Like I said in the first post, the MOPAR filter is made by UFI in CHINA.

There are other filter options.

MANN+HUMMEL HU 7018 Z
ECOGARD X10232
Pronto P 08157 X
aFe Power 44LF035
IFA METROSTREET L38157

The below filters have the O-ring in a different location on the neck. There is some controversy as to the proper fitment on a RAM 1500 EcoDiesel. These three below all appear to be from the same manufacturer in Bulgaria.

MAHLE OX1034D Eco
Hastings LF696
STP S11794

I emailed them many months ago. No reply.

I have the UFI public data sheets. They only show dimensions and applications.

I happen to be married to an Italian girl. I speak Italian and I've called. I got into a dead end phone loop.

Would anyone happen to know who owns-runs this factory in Bulgaria that makes the MAHLE filter? I looked on MAHLE's website, but they don't list a location in Bulgaria. I found an older post from 2007 that mentioned AL filter was the Bulgarian source.
Thanks

Excellent work over there! I don't have anything to add, and I appreciate your analysis.

I'll likely order the Mahle from now on.

What I really want is a Fram Ultra synthetic option.

I'd think that's a good choice. In an European sourced application like this, it's pretty hard to go wrong with one of the European filters, even from a cost perspective. To make matters cheaper, try getting through someone sourcing through Worldpac rather than Alltrom. That made a significant difference to me on Audi stuff.
