500 high school choir students sing the U.S. National anthem in a high-rise hotel. Each night before curfew, they gather on their balconies to sing the Star-Spangled Banner from the balconies of the 18-story atrium at Louisville's downtown Hyatt Regency as part of the Kentucky Music Educators convention. You can’t help it but get goose bumps when you hear them sing.

When I read the heading of this post I had to cringe.

I have a pet peeve about 'renditions' of national anthems.
Whatever the country.

Thank goodness this is sung as it should be, without extra notes or other vocal theatrics.

I love this - I used to sing in school choirs and musicals... it was my favorite thing for many years.

I think it's great that they sing the anthem (instead of a pop song) every night, and that there's five hundred of them, working together to create something special. It teaches them more than they realize.
