i'm talking small ones to inflate tires.
i just fixed one with bad cord. i used a cord from another one with bad pump. while i had it apart, i noticed the "crankcase" is open to elements and dry with some metal scuffing. being a BITOG type, i sprayed some white lithium grease. it works fine now. was this a bad idea? i mean the white lithium grease.

The first 12V air compressor I ever owned actually recommended a drop of grease pushed into the air intake while it was running periodically.

I've never actually run one long enough to wear it out, though.

You are probably ok.

I'm not sure white lithium is the best bet... But for a freebie? I guess it's better than nothing.
