That's a Magnum Research BFR.

Both are Magnum Research BFR's. One in .45-70, and the other in .500 S&W Magnum.

Is the.45-70 rated to handle the handle the more powerful loads? I see they make a .450 Marlin so I assume so.

Yes. The loads pictured with the .45-70 are Lyman 572 Gr. Gas Checks loaded to almost .458 Win. Mag. Pressures. The revolver will handle them fine. Case extraction is not difficult. Now the RECOIL is quite another story! .45-70 factory loads are no worse than mild .44 Magnum loads in a Ruger Super Redhawk.
