Do you feel that a quality High Mileage oil is good for 10K oci's. If not, how long would you be confident taking it on a relatively "easy" oci ?

6500-7500 with a wix filter(my preference)
Some folks on here will act like your an idiot for suggesting the idea that you will drain the oil at all

A full synthetic high mileage oil for 10K, yes. A blend or conventional, I wouldn't trust it honestly. High mileage oils are just like any other oils as far as how long you can run them. There are conventional, blends and full synthetic high mileage oils & you should adjust your oil change interval accordingly to the type of oil & conditions.

Most HM oils are blends and as mentioned are probably 7-8k oils at most, if your driving patterns are optimum. A lot of cold starts and short trips can greatly impact the longevity of your oil. Almost all highway driving the exact opposite.

Most full synthetic oils are blends. The base oil may last but the weak package wont. EP and ppd get used up over time.

Easy OCI (fast high miles highway, fully warmed for over 1/2hour) with a healthy engine = 6K give or take.

It's all an irrelevant discussion until we know the application and driving style. If it's all highway miles in an Asian 4 cylinder it would be cake.

If it's all city miles short trips in an American 6 cylinder it's different.
